Snowden on Privacy

It had to be said and it’s interesting that it was Edward Snowden who said it so nicely. Both the American and world populations have been slipping into complacency at an extremely rapid rate over the last decade, particularly in the last two years. One might think that we were being distracted with so many things, including entertainment and luxuries, that so very few are willing to fight for our rights to privacy and security without the prying eyes of the government.

There are aspects of Snowden that are not appealing. He has risen to superstar status in his own mind which is apparent by interviews, but we don’t want to judge. We don’t know what his state of mind is or how it would feel to be in his situation; perhaps he’s handling it better than we would. Nevertheless, it’s refreshing to see little quotes like this popping up that ring so very true. This is the type of message that must be hammered into people before it’s too late.
