Feinstein and Rogers Defend NSA
Senator Dianne Feinstein and Representative Mike Rogers discussed the NSA situation with Face the Nation this morning and undertook the political gaming of the media systm to get their messages across. For Feinstein, it was a message of “trust the administration – he’s got this”.
“I believe the NSA is filled with good, patriotic people who want to do the right thing.,” she said. “They follow the orders they’re given. The administration controls intelligence. The national intelligence framework is put together by the administration.”
She goes on to describe how the hierarchy of priorities works and that the administration is investigating to determine if there was a breakdown and why that breakdown happened. Rogers was more defensive of the actions of the NSA and expressed concern that the administration might hamper their efforts to defend the country.
