If ISIS is Sending ‘Refugees’ Into Europe, What can be Done?
There is very little doubt in anyone with half a brain that the Islamic State is utilizing the humanitarian crisis that they helped to create to send their agents into Europe, from which they’ll be able to recruit and send agents around the world. Thinking otherwise is foolish. Can anything be done about it?
The option of cutting off all refugees is completely off the table. This really is a crisis of proportions not seen since WWII and attempts to halt the infusion would be both fruitless and potentially dangerous. Some have suggested trying a controlled style of entry, but the lack of tracking and identity control makes it nearly impossible to make sure that none of the “bad guys” get in.
It would seem like the only plausible solution might be a complete annihilation of ISIS. While we’ve been against boots on the ground in the past, it would seem that the organization is too strong and the risks are too high to ignore at this point.
A complete breakdown of how this would look and why it makes sense can be found on Soshable.
The Islamic State has the advantage of seeing how the United States reacted to 9/11. They saw that the world of capitalism didn’t crumble. They saw that it was used as a license to establish a strong presence in the Middle East. They saw Osama bin Laden killed, growing al Qaeda cells obliterated, and the emergence of a new weapon to fight them: drones.
Most importantly, they saw that Americans were shocked but that they quickly galvanized around the cause and grew stronger as a result, even if only for a short time. The Islamic State won’t make the same mistakes.
